If You've Lost Your Faith in Love and Music the End Won't be Long

source: fashion hedonism

That second photo is so hot. Bruna Tenorio is probably one of the most beautiful models I have ever seen and it's really cemented my love for playsuits and summer bike rides. Enough to make me want to get up earlier tomorrow for a morning cycle before college.
Latest purchases include another pair sunglasses, another pair of denim cut offs and a couple of summery vintage shirts which were dirt cheap from a jumble sale. The recent weather made me realise just how much black I wear and spurred me into impulse buying of anything remotely colourful. I had forgotten how much fun summer wardrobes can be and am relishing in all the pastel colours that are around.
Spent my Sunday with some lovely people reminding me just how exciting next year is going to be. September can not come soon enough.

It's Out of Love

Ive had my eye on these flip down sunnies for a couple of weeks and on a Friday afternoon shopping excursion my high spirits allowed my purse strings to loosen. I think I am a little in love with them.
Whilst in Spain I bought a blue crochet dress, a big woolen jacket and a sweet little stripey top which makes me look a little like a disciple from Nazareth but for all the right reasons, and all this for just 1 euro. Charity shops there are incredible. I also bought back some discount gin, a little pick me up to get me through endless revision.
I am now off to run a few looming photography deadline related errands including getting my sketchbook which should already be full by now and taking photographs which should already be edited by now.
This week entails:
  • A general studies exam which is now making me wonder if my Tuesday lie ins were worth missing almost every lesson.
  • A hell of a lot of blagging to make this rushed photography project look like I took 8 weeks to do it.
  • Revision for my geography re sit on Friday to make it easier for me to get an A overall.

So. Much. Work.

Everyday I Waited for You

It's been too long since I posted. Distractions have been coming in thick and fast and putting them to one side and getting my head down has never been my favourite choice. With just two weeks until my first exam it's really time I started taking revision seriously but a three day trip to Spain to visit family is really going to test my will power. Packing more Geography books than clothes is going to be a test, but I guess its for the best.
Just got back from a church sale where i bought three chunky silver rings, which had my name all over them, for the sweet price of £1.50. Nothing makes me smile more than cheap silver rings which don't need alteration to fit my fingers.
Fatale Femmes have once again posted an editorial which blows me away. This one makes me want to grab my friends, a crate of beers and head to the streets for a night of spontaneous mischief and fun. I need some lace bloomers.

There's Beauty in the Breakdown

Being back at college is as dull as I expected and with exams and end of year looming teachers are becoming less leniant and less patient with every day. 5 weeks to go.

Please excuse the mess in my room in the background of these shots but I am probably one of the most unorganised people you will ever come across. I bet it annoys my mum more than you though. I'm wearing a top from next worn as a dress, vintage velvet fronted shirt, new look wedges, topshop necklace. Assorted rings, including the owl one from accesorize. I should probably start wearing more make up in photos...

I have been in awe of the American flag print shorts from Topshop for weeks and to finally call them my own as of yesterday has put a smile on my face. I'm guessing you will see me in them very soon because I'm not sure I can bare to take them off. I plan to spend my summer days in them, lounging in the garden drinking gin and tonics and reading magazines. Nice. Bought a few other items which I will post more on soon too.
But for now I am off to report on human responses to tectonic activity. Bored already? So am I.

Procrastinating Sleep

A few things I should have achieved during this two week break: a couple of big reports, essays and several hours worth of reading. I am now lying in bed wishing I had another week off to achieve at least half of that. However if I am truly honest with myself, given another week off I would be in the same boat when it was through but maybe my liver would be in a worse condition and my brain cells staying power tested again.
Absoloutey loved the last post from this blog and thought I would show you my favourite shots. Prehaps motivation would be better perscribed than inspiration but I'm yet to read a blog that grips me with its reports on the gothic techniques of Angela Carter's Short Stories. Sorry A-Levels, looks like your stuck on the back burner.

I need that T-shirt. Thanks for posting this fatale femmes.
You guys often ask me about my hair. I don't want to disappoint but the colour isn't natural. I have dark brown hair naturally, but I dye it lighter. I have a determined wish to be blonde but I dyed my hair red for so long that now it goes a muted ginger everytime I attempt it. I could go to the hairdressers and get them to sort it out but I dont have that kind of money so instead I put my trust in various home kits and I never learn.
My wisdom teeth have gatecrashed my mouth and hurt so much. I'm going to attempt sleeping through the pain.

Waiting for my Dreams to Match my Pay

This break from college has been well appreciated but I am now half way through and very behind on the "strict schedule" of work I had planned to get done. I had envisioned myself sorting out my room, getting on top of my Literature reading and dying my hair. Reality is something very different. My roots are getting ridiculous, my books lie untouched and my room would make a crack den seem well kept. I blame this months vogue arriving for today's mismanagement of time. If only there was a closed book exam on that.
Just a few snaps from the night I commemorated by recent good fortune. Of course my Libertines tee was worn in celebration. The passing around of my friends bowler cemented my need for a hat. Its now top of my list.
I'm off to go find out if I still have carpet under all this crap. I think it was blue...
charcoal tights from my mums drawer, shorts from topshop, DIY cropped Libertines Tee and denim shirt from Charity shops.

Acceptance Speech

So I went to an interview for London College of Fashion and didn't hear back for 8 weeks. With 1200 applicants applying for 60 international places and 60 UK places I had ruled myself out and psyched myself into accepting my fate at Manchester, not a bad university by any means. But then yesterday something magical happened. I was accepted and I am going. This in itself made my day, week and life but it was hearing this on top of the news that The Libertines are reforming and performing at Leeds festival this year that has put me into such high spirits, nothing can dampen my mood these days. Please don't die or go to prison beforehand Pete, it would be very inconvenient for me.

These pictures are from the bike ride I mentioned, taken by my beautiful friend Hannah on her film camera.

dress from burska, shirt from a charity shop and the bags vintage.
